Standing waste on Woodlots

I was just reviewing the presentation slide from James Carroll from the Campbell River woodlot meeting a couple of weeks ago. The slide referring to cut control contains the statement :

“2. Waste & Residue from cut block or roads – whether felled or standing (take or pay policy)”.

I just wanted to point out that this is not true, Standing waste is not reported as waste within a Woodlot or CFA as per the waste manual

Waste Manual

In talking with MOF regional staff it seems a number of standing tree billings have been made on the coast over the past few years. It is quite likely that many waste submitters are not aware of this section of the manual.
